
As such, the idea was scrapped, and instead a new character named Cotton was written for King of the Hill to act as Hank's father.Īs previously stated, King of the Hill was owned by Fox, while Beavis and Butt-Head was owned by MTV. However, Fox, the network King of the Hill aired on, would not allow this, presumably because Beavis and Butt-Head aired on rival network MTV. When asked about these similarities, Mike Judge, voice actor of both characters and creator of both shows, said he originally intended for Tom to be Hank's father. The characters have similar appearances and personalities, and the same voice actor. Hank Hill from King of the Hill bears a notable resemblance to Tom Anderson from Beavis and Butt-Head.
